Wilmington School of the Arts is implementing a half-day instructional model for Fall 2020.
-Each class will be divided into a Group A and Group B, with Group A attending a morning session, and Group B attending an afternoon session.
-WSA will be setting up a large, enclosed event tent with tables for lunch so that children can exit the building allowing for staff to have the space and time to sanitize between sessions A and B.
Per this model, each class would have 10 or fewer students at a time.
This model best fits our school’s belief that:
-Children grades K-2 need daily face to face instructional time in order to best meet their emotional and educational needs.
-Project-based and arts-integrated instruction are best delivered in person
Our unique educational philosophy and small school size allows us to implement a plan of this nature that utilizes a more creative approach to learning during these challenging times.
Per state requirements, students and staff will gather in groups of 10 or less, and wear a face mask while on campus. A handwashing and temperature check station will be at each entrance.
Daily instruction for both groups will include:
-Math Instruction (arts-integrated)
-Literacy Instruction (arts-integrated)
-One Art Elective
